The ASI-8000 is a unique portable service monitor combining the capabilities of several pieces of test equipment into a single convenient unit. Featuring a wide viewing angle 8.4" LCD panel with an anti-reflective protective glass panel, conveniently mounted carrying/operating handles and rubber bumpers, the robust design is suitable for a wide range of service, monitoring and repair activities.

The ASI-8000 provides for two distinct inputs, DVB -ASI and an ATSC antenna input. The monitor is able to decode and display the content of compressed MPEG2 and MPEG4 streams and to display the contents . The On Screen Display feature then provides a wide range of summary information as to the content of the ASI Stream , the programs contained in the stream and the audio and video content. AFD (Automatic Format Descriptor) support is reflected in the automatic selection of the 4:3 or 16:9 display modes and by the LED indicators.
