STPH will host free yoga classes for cancer patients and their loved ones Fridays 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. through September 10 at the Paul D. Cordes Outpatient Pavilion, 16300 Hwy. 1085, Covington. These free yoga classes incorporate yoga techniques appropriate for individuals going through a cancer experience regardless of their physical strengths or abilities. Yoga has proved beneficial in improving mood, sleep and symptoms related to cancer or treatment. The classes are facilitated by a certified yoga instructor. Participants may join the program at any time if space is available. The classes are provided by the Leonard C. Thomas HOS Foundation and sponsored in part by the St. Tammany Memorial Cancer Fund.
