The Department of Permits and Regulatory is committed to protecting the lives and insuring the safety of the residents and visitors of St. Tammany Parish, preserving the Parish's quality of life and contributing to the Parish's economic development. We accomplish this through adoption, implementation and enforcement of building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing codes; and by working closely with other Parish Departments such as the Department of Engineering, the Department of Environmental Services and the Department of Planning and Zoning, along with parish ordinances and state laws for construction and maintenance of commercial, industrial and residential buildings.

Annually:

• Over 5000 permits issued,
• Over 2900 permits issues for new single family homes,
• Over 3,000 addresses issued to customers,
• Over 30,000 walk in customers,
• Over 40,000 inspections,
• Over 4,000 trade registrations.

Our department serves all of the unincorporated areas of St. Tammany Parish at two locations
